CERTIFIED AS AN OPEN WATER SCUBA DIVER

When you decided to join Scuba Diving community, the first step you need is to be certified as an Open Water Diver. When you are certified, you can dive at almost every dive site in the world. This course will teach you the fundamentals of scuba diving, and safety procedures, and gain the necessary skills and knowledge to explore the underwater world. In short words, you'll learn everything you need to know as a Scuba Diver.

As a certified Open Water Diver, you'll be able to dive up to 18 meters under the instructor's supervision, where the real fun begins. This is a comprehensive certification course designed to turn you into an independent diver, allowing you to start your journey as a Certified Diver and dive worldwide. We offer the SSI Open Water Diver Course, The Open Water Diver Course is available as a 4-day program (2 in the pool, and 2 in the sea).

  • Theory and knowledge development: You'll cover the principles, concepts, and terms of scuba diving, learning everything you need to know for dive safety and enjoyment.
  • Pool or confined water session: You'll learn and practice all the required scuba skills in a pool or water with pool-like conditions.
  • Open water dive session: You'll practice, apply, and demonstrate the skills you've learned during four Open Water Dives at a local dive site to complete your training.

ITINERARY, DURATION, LOCATION, and TIME

Day 1: Theory development and Pool/Confined water Session

  • Pool session start at 8:00 AM, end around 5 PM.
  • Class and pool session, with a half-day academic session (videos, quizzes, final exam) and a half-day pool session. There is an optional e-learning in MySSI app before your pool session.
  • You can learn at your own pace and have more time for the pool session on the first day of your Open Water Diver Course.

Day 2:

  • Pool session start at 8:00 AM, end around 5 PM.
  • Review and practice the skills you learned in Day 1.

Day 3 and Day 4: Required Open Water Dives/Ocean Dives for 4 dives in 2 days

  • Our standard open water session is conducted in Kepulauan Seribu (2.5 hrs boat ride from Jakarta) for 2 open water dives in a day.
  • If you think you want another location that suits your preferences, you can upgrade and ask our team the recommended dive site for your open water session.
  • Make sure you have 24 hours of NO FLIGHT after finishing your last dive.

QUALIFICATION NEEDS

  • You need to be at least 10 years old and physically healthy.
  • No prior diving experience is required.
  • You need to be able to swim with a mask, snorkel, and fins. Swimming capabilities are optional. As long as you're comfortable in the water, can float, tread water using any methods, and trust the instructor completely, you'll be just fine. There is no time limit for swimming and floating during the pool session.
